Review by hotel critic
I recently enjoyed a gourmet getaway at De La Mer, and the culinary experience was certainly a highlight. The restaurant boasted a refined menu featuring dishes that seamlessly balanced land and sea. I indulged in a beautifully presented plate of fresh seafood, which showcased the local flavors we often miss at home in Edinburgh. Dining here felt special, not just because of the exquisite food, but also due to the restaurant’s inviting ambiance. Sipping an excellent glass of white wine paired with oysters while soaking in the serene coastal views was truly memorable. After meals, I took leisurely walks along the rocky coast, which enhanced the overall experience, providing a perfect way to unwind. While breakfast was on the pricey side and average in quality, the innovative dinners certainly left a lasting impression. De La Mer is a gem for food enthusiasts looking to connect with local cuisine amidst breathtaking scenery.
